POSitive Master Installation file for POSitive For Business (PFB), POSitive For Retail (PFR), Green Enterprise Management (GEM) and POSitive For Restaurant Equipment (PFRE). May be used to update an existing POSitive v.5 or newer installation. However, we recommend that users of older versions have their dealer, or POSitive support, install upgrades due to adjustments that may need to be made to the database and other files.
This initial release does not include the MS SQL database, so if used for a new installation you must be familiar with installing MS SQL separately. We recommend using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or newer.
A current maintenance key is required in order to run the installation file. The key also determines which product is activated, the number of user licenses and optional modules. If you do not have a current maintenance key you will need to purchase or renew a software maintenance subscription (SMS) in order to get one. Please contact your dealer or POSitive support to purchase.
Before installing any update file make sure you have backup of both the POSitive directory and the SQL database.
IMPORTANT! If you are updating a POSitive product, the master installation file will create a 'generic' installation directory unless you enter the specific directory name for your current POSitive product. We recommend that you review the Registration Instructions by clicking on the link above. If you are not sure what that directory is, or how to find it, STOP NOW and consult your dealer or POSitive support before proceeding!
